JMS Automotive has been accredited by the Ministry of Environment to provide emission tests and repairs. Our staff are trained and approved as qualified to operate the testing equipment and perform emissions diagnostics and repairs.

The Drive Clean program, which requires vehicle emissions testing, is one of a number of measures the province is taking to combat smog. Smog causes health problems, especially for children, the elderly and people with respiratory heart conditions.

The word "smog" was coined to describe the deadly combination of smoke and fog during a particularly severe episode in London, England. The smog we experience here in Ontario is different, being composed largely of ozone and fine particles. A major domestic source is vehicle emissions. In Ontario, cars, trucks, and buses are major sources of smog pollution, especially in densely populated urban areas. Poorly maintained vehicles contribute to the pollution. To reduce smog, we must reduce emissions.
